Guysborough Municipality Votes to Issue a Letter to Canadian Coast Guard and MP Mike Kelloway

The Municipality of the County of Guysborough has agreed to send a letter to the Canadian Coast Guard and MP Mike Kelloway regarding a sunken boat at Tickle Wharf.

The boat was risen to remove its fuel and other toxic liquids due to environmental concerns, but the boat sank again shortly afterwards.

The Municipality hopes that removing the sunken boat will be a top priority for the coast guard and MP Kelloway. Warden Vernon Pitts says the boat is not in the municipality’s jurisdiction and is the responsibility of the Federal Government.

The cause of the boats sinking has not been determined and it is not known who the boat belongs too.
