The snow should start tapering to flurries late Friday morning in parts of Inverness County, including the Highlands.

As well, a special weather statement for north-facing shores of eastern Nova Scotia calls for large waves, pounding surf and elevated sea water levels during high tide from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
Coastal flooding and shore erosion are possible. Rough conditions are expected to ease by Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the Strait Regional Centre for Education says there are no classes Friday at Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre/Academy and Pleasant Bay School due to the weather.
