Richmond Warriors pick up boxing medals in Ont.

Four fighters from the Richmond Warriors Boxing Club in Barra Head are back after a great showing in the ring in Ontario.

The team competed in the Brampton Cup, Canada’s largest and longest-running Olympic-style boxing tournament, which wrapped up on the weekend.

Luc Aucoin and Zachary Lafford each won bronze medals.

Matt Cavanaugh lost in a very close decision.

In a disappointing turn, Matt Kyte – who won gold in the super heavyweight division last year – was declared winner by a walkover after his opponent fell ill.
