Woman arrested in Antigonish Co. drug bust receives absolute discharge

A suspect charged in relation to a drug bust in Antigonish Co. has received an absolute discharge.

Leotta Marie Cameron, 66, of Frankville originally entered not guilty pleas to two possession for the purpose of trafficking counts and a breach in September.

Police say members of the Antigonish-Guysborough RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit found marijuana and prescription pills when they searched a home in Frankville in March.

They say they found more marijuana and prescription pills when they searched the same home in April.

Cameron, whose case opened in court in May, changed her plea to guilty on the drug charges as her trial was scheduled to get underway in January; a judge handed her an absolute discharge in Antigonish Provincial Court Wednesday.

The Crown withdrew her breach charge.
