Winners announced for Strait Regional Science Fair

Three students walked away as grand prize winners after the Strait Regional Science Fair.

About 150 participated in the event with 39 students online and 110 students in-person with 112 science-based projects showcased.

The Grand Prize went to Grade 8 student from St. Andrew Junior High School, Saanvi Vishwakarma – Assessing the Ecological Implications and Antibacterial Efficacy of Garlic Compared to Lysol Disinfectant

Second grand prize went to Grade 10 student from John Hugh Gillis Regional High Shool, Yashita Ghore – BioKidney: A Step Towards Lab-Grown Organs

Third grand prize went to Grade 11 student from Dalbrae Academy, Elise Munro– Keeping it Cool: Preventing the Deterioration and Improving the Performance of Solar Panels in Hot Conditions

There were several winners, but the top three will attend the Canada wide Science Fair in Frederiction, New Brunswick from May 31 to June 7.
