The federal government is spending $168,221 for seniors’ programs in region.
Mike Kelloway, MP for Cape Breton-Canso, announced the 10 programs in his riding last week.
Kelloway says the money was doled out through New Horizons for Seniors Programs, which supports over 3000 programs across the country.
“Our communities have grown so much thanks to the strong foundations built by our seniors,” he says. “This has demonstrated a strong commitment from our government to ensure seniors have the ability to participate in meaningful activities that help to get seniors out of the house, and foster meaningful relationships.”
Nine of the groups getting funding are in the Quad Counties.
