Annual Report Shows Grim Reality in Nova Scotia’s ER’s

It’s no surprise, but the reality of our emergency departments in NS is grim.

This after The Annual Accountability Report on Emergency Departments was released today.

Minister of Health and Wellness, Michelle Thompson said in a statement that our ER’s have been pushed to the limit.

However, The Action For Health Plan to provide better healthcare, is in the works.

It includes hospital expansions and 400 more beds in emergency rooms, expanding the amount of urgent treatment centers across the province. It also includes creating a stream for NS Doctors trained overseas to come home, bringing more clinics into communities.

Improving the state of health care in Nova Scotia is not a quick fix and will take time, effort and money.
