Five people, including three youths, have been charged in connection with a serious assault in Eskasoni earlier this month.
Eskasoni RCMP say officers responded to a report of an injured man shortly after midnight on Saturday, July 4th. Police located the victim on Shore Road near the intersection of Mickey’s Lane and provided assistance.
As part of the investigation, RCMP executed search warrants at two homes on Logan Drive on July 10th. Officers arrested two men, aged 18 and 20, and seized evidence believed to be connected to the case.
On July 13, officers arrested one youth at the Eskasoni Detachment, and also carried out a search warrant at another residence, where two more youths were arrested.
The two adult suspects appeared in court on Monday, July 13th, while the three youths are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, July 14th.
Eskasoni RCMP continues to investigate the incident with assistance from RCMP Forensic Identification Services. Authorities have not released information on the victim’s condition.
