Antigonish Community Transit receives joint funding

Antigonish Community Transit has received joint funding from the Province and the Federal Government.

Town Mayor Laurie Boucher says this is an exciting time for the community and the funding will allow the organization to purchase hybrid and electric vehicles and charging stations.

The Town and County are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and this technology will help them achieve their goals.

The funding will also pay for two new bus shelters.

Public transportation is an essential service for the region as many people need transportation to attend medical appointments and to get to work.

The joint investment totals $1.22 Million.
