Quad Counties volunteer fire departments to receive provincial funding

A number of volunteer fire departments in the Quad Counties are in line for provincial funding to help buy safety equipment.

Provincial officials say they’re providing more than $900,000 for 60 volunteer first responder organizations through the Emergency Services Provider Fund.

The Four Valleys, Havre Boucher and District, and Isle Madame Volunteer Fire Departments are all getting $20,000, that’s the maximum amount available through the program.

The Framboise-Forchu Volunteer Fire Department receives a little more than $13,000 and the Aulds Cove Volunteer Fire Department is in line for almost $8500 in funding.
