A Quad County community is getting a face lift.
The Cape Breton-Canso member of parliament was in Richmond County on Thursday to announce federal funds for the community of Arichat.
Arichat’s Main Street will have new sidewalks, a fresh streetscape and a façade improvement.
Rodger Cuzner made the announcement for the Honourable Navdeep Bains.
Bains is the Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
Cuzner says the Façade program helps our local area grow.
“Façade improvement programs and revitalized streetscapes help fuel an innovative which will help the rural areas of Cape Breton to grow, attract visitors and thrive.”
He says Main Street businesses will benefit from the new streetscaping plan, including the Saint Anne Centre.
Cuzner says full-time residents of the home will utilize the new sidewalk extensively.
