High speed internet coming to We’koqma’q with community-based Skye Communications

High speed internet is coming to We’koqma’q.

Construction and preparation continue for the Fiber-To-The-Home expansion project that began in May.

It’s through a new venture with Skye Communications in partnership with the province and Rogers Communications (Seaside).

Services are expected to be available early this year with a goal to provide more reliable, faster internet, while driving long-term economic growth.

“Empowering our community with connectivity has always been a priority” says Chief of We’koqma’q, Annie Bernard-Daisley. “The launch of our community owned telecommunications business is a testament to our dedication to bridging gaps and fostering growth. We are thrilled to embark on this new chapter,” says Chief Anne.

Residents of We’Koqma’q and surrounding areas can enroll to be placed on a waiting list.

You just need to fill out a form at www.skycommunications.ca.
