Paving to happen in Inverness this year

A busy road construction season is ahead in Inverness.

The province says paving will happen this summer on Central Avenue through the village after completion of municipal infrastructure work.

This is part of major improvements coming for the popular tourist destination, including the $24.4 million replacement of the wastewater treatment facility.

The Strathlorne-Scotsville Road will also receive 4.4-kilometres of paving along the north side of Lake Ainslie, one of the final sections needing work.

According to a release, “Since the fall of 2021, the provincial government has more than doubled the amount of money being spent on local paved roads, nearly tripled the amount of spending on gravel roads and has tripled the amount for local road maintenance.”
