Local community groups receive provincial funding

Funding for community groups in our area.

The province gave three organizations money for upgrades to their facilities.

Hazel Hill and Area Community Association is getting $50,000 for a new roof.

The Senior Citizens Shamrock Club will receive over $18,000 for exterior upgrades, and the Whitehaven Community Association will be able to install heat pumps with over $10,000.

Guysborough-Tracadie MLA Greg Morrow says these organizations are important to the community, and are a place for residents to come together for activities.

He says he’s pleased to see them get the funding they need.
