Man hit by car and woman assaulted in Guysborough

RCMP arrested a woman in Guysborough following an incident on Saturday.

At 9:35 p.m. Guysborough RCMP responded to multiple calls of a disturbance on Church St.

RCMP say they located three people who were involved in an altercation with a woman who had left the scene.

The investigation determined that three men and two women were travelling together in a car when a dispute started.

Police say the male driver got out of the car and walked away and a woman got into the driver’s seat.

They say she started looking for the man and a short time later, the three other passengers asked to get out.

RCMP say the female driver stopped and let them out and prior to leaving, the driver got out of the car and assaulted the other woman.

A few minutes later, the car returned and drove towards the three people in an erratic manner which lead to one man being hit by the car and damage to a structure.

No injuries were reported to police.

The next day RCMP arrested a 35-year-old woman from Lower South River and she is facing charges of assault with a weapon, assault and mischief.

She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on November 10th.

The investigation is ongoing.
