I recently read about the results of a study involving 160 couples and housework.
Unsurprisingly, it found that couples are happier if they share household responsibilities.
The study found that it didn’t even need to be a 50/50 split – just the perception that chores are a team effort was beneficial.
In my house, I wouldn’t say it’s an even split (I tend to do more housework) but if I’m honest, I like cleaning. Is that strange? I dunno, if I think about it, it probably has to do with the instant(ish) gratification of making something look better by cleaning. That’s my happy place.
Added bonus: my husband enjoying cooking (something I don’t) so I guess it works out.
