Heavy rain on the way for western Cape Breton

Lots of rain is on the way.

Environment Canada says the system is going to hit western Cape Breton, in Inverness County south of Mabou, Wednesday night and last until Thursday night.

The forecaster is warning for heavy downpours, up to 40 mm at times, that could cause localized flooding.

They say to monitor for alerts.
