ROC Society receives federal funding

A local organization is receiving federal funding.

Port Hawkesbury’s Regional Occupational Centre, also known as the ROC Society, will have an extra $73,076 in the bank account from ACOA.

The money will be used to expand the ROC’s space and will allow members to gain valuable work experience in a safe environment.

This new space will streamline production and create up to six vocational opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Mike Kelloway, Member of Parliament for Cape Breton-Canso, made the announcement Thursday on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly.
