A Wagmatcook man charged in a case involving three children has had all of his charges withdrawn
Kadnii Blaise Johnson, 33, was facing a total of 13 counts in relation to incidents between Dec. 2019 and up to and including April 2020.
Charges included corrupting children, corrupting morals, permitting sexual activity and making sexually explicit material available to a child.
Police say they searched a Wagmatcook home and laid charges in relation to three minors in April 2020.
Johnson was expected for election-and-plea in Wagmatcook Provincial Court Wednesday; instead, the Crown reviewed the file, and determined there was “no realistic prospect of conviction”.
All charges were withdrawn; A peace bond was issued.
The peace bond, for one year, requires Johnson to:
- Keep the peace and be of good behaviour;
- Not to use the internet or any digital network, including a cellphone, to communicate with any person under the age of 18 years;
- Not to attend any public park or swimming area where persons under the age of 16 years are present or can reasonably be expected to be present or any school ground or playground;
- Not to communicate, directly or indirectly, with those involved in the police investigation.
- Not have contact with any person under the age of 16 years unless in the company of another person over the age of 18 years
