Extensive search for missing 80-year-old Baddeck man called off: RCMP

The extensive search for a missing 80-year-old Baddeck man has been called off.

This comes after more than 2,000 volunteer hours and more than 100kms covered by search and rescue teams looking for Richard Mahoney.

However, Victoria County District RCMP say they will continue to collect new information and leads.

Mahoney was last seen on July 18 on Jessica Wong Lane in Baddeck.

Mahoney is described as 5’8, 140 lbs, grey hair, blue eyes and a dark bruise on his right elbow.
