Inverness Co. man charged with attempted murder

One man has been charged with attempted murder following an argument in Egypt Falls that escalated to gunfire over the weekend.

Police responded to a call of a man having been shot Monday afternoon, at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Keppoch Rd. in Egypt Falls.

Police learned one man had been shot after an a disagreement with another two men, who fled the scene.

He was taken to hospital with serious, but not life threatening, injuries.

The two men were later found and arrested without incident.

Donald Joseph Googoo,35, of We’koqma’q First Nation was arrested; He was in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court yesterday, and will appear again tomorrow morning.

The second man was arrested and later released without being charged.
