Cape Breton musicians receive funding

The province is teaming up with the Cape Breton Music Industry Cooperative.

Provincial Officials announced CB-MIC will receive $15,000.

That means 36 individuals will have courses available in social media for business, communications and proposal writing.

The cooperative will be the first entertainment non-profit in Nova Scotia to offer 40-hour courses with a certificate from the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration.

The classes will help musicians manage companies, venues, festivals, events and help with their professional careers.
