New Glasgow man arrested after chasing woman with knife

A 19-year-old was arrested in new Glasgow after chasing a woman with a knife.

New Glasgow regional police received a call about the altercation at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police later arrested the New Glasgow man at a Temperance St. home.

He was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries, before being released into police custody.

The pair knew each other and there’s no risk to the public, police say.

The man is facing charges of possession of a weapon for dangerous use, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
