Chiasson running for Antigonish mayor

An Antigonish woman wants to be the town’s next mayor.

Emilie Chiasson has announced she’ll run for the seat in the upcoming municipal election.

Chiasson works at the Coady Institute at St. Francis Xavier University and is a freelance writer for Saltwire Network.

Her platform will focus on community and connection.

In a Facebook post, Chiasson refers to her Caring for our Community campaign, saying she’s “excited and motivated to breathe necessary new energy into the life of our town.”

The municipal election is October 19th.
