Update: 9:40 p.m., Shelter in place lifted in Antigonish Co., police presence done

Tense moments in a small community in Antigonish County, Monday evening.

RCMP posted on X just after 7:00 p.m., they were making arrests on Parkwood Avenue in North Grant, warning of a heavier police presence in the area, but no risk to public safety.

At about 7:30 p.m., they asked residents in the immediate area to shelter-in-place.

Roughly an hour later at 8:20 p.m., the shelter-in-place was lifted.

At 9:40 p.m., RCMP said the police presence was done.

There is no further information at this time.
