Bulldogs Set Sights on Don Johnson Cup for the First Time Since ’06

The Antigonish Bulldogs are going to the Don Johnson Memorial Cup for the first time since 2006.

After defeating the East Hants Penguins in the NSJHL finals last weekend, Bulldogs Head Coach, Donnie Grant, says the team is thrilled to have this opportunity.

“Well it’s going to be a fun experience. It’s probably been a while since some of these guys have been to an Atlantic championship.”

Grant says they know there’s still work to be done and while they want to keep their eye on the prize, he also wants to take things day by day.

He adds that a tight schedule will be a challenge as well.

“They have four games in three days and then if you make the semis and the championship it’s back to back to back all the time so, just going to have to get lots of rest and eat well and just dig deep and bring it every single game.”

The Bulldogs last won The Don in 1984.
