RCMP Respond to Incident in Monastery Region UPDATED

The RCMP responded to a report of a man in distress at a residence near Monastery this morning.

In response to the incident the police closed Old Mulgrave Branch Road and Mattie Settlement Road and people were asked to stay away from the area.

It was reported that the officers contained the residence and spoke to the two occupants that informed the officers that the distressed man was no longer there.

The two roads have since reopened and the police have left the scene.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police made this announcement on their Facebook.

The investigation is ongoing.
