The inspiring journey of Jackie Putnam + a look at live music around the Quads

Jackie Putnam is quickly becoming one of the most exciting voices in East Coast music.

From her home in Debert, NS, she has built a career based on passion, hard work, and a love of storytelling through song.

A Journey to Follow Her Dream

Jackie’s path to becoming a full-time musician wasn’t always easy. In fact, she made a bold decision in 2023 to leave her full-time job and focus completely on her music career. This leap of faith paid off. She released her debut album The Phoenix in 2023, a project completely self-funded and which represents growth, strength, and rising above challenges, just like the mythical phoenix bird. Since then, Jackie has performed across Atlantic Canada, including audiences at sea on ferry crossings and touring with her one-woman show. Jackie will return to her sea shows for the 7th season this summer.

Jackie’s Music Style

Jackie’s music is a mix of country and pop, with a little bit of rock influence. Her sound is inspired by legendary artists like Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, and Patsy Cline. Her songs often focus on real-life emotions such as love, heartbreak, and personal growth.

For example, her song “I Wanted To Be Free” is about resilience and finding your true self. Overall, her music connects with listeners because it feels honest and relatable.

Jackie Putnam has already earned major recognition for her work. Some of her achievements include:

BYOTA-TV teamed up with Jackie to produce a documentary called “The Phoenix” which can be found at www.byota.tv
