The Cape Breton West Islanders open play at the 2018 Bantam AA hockey provincials in Amherst.
The Islanders, who are among seven teams at the provincial tournament, play their first game against the Acadia Axemen at 12 p.m., then face the Cape Breton Co. Islanders at 6 p.m.
Cape Breton West plays their two final preliminary round games Friday.
The top four teams advance to the semi-finals Sunday morning; the championship game is Sunday afternoon.
