Officials with the Strait Pirates say they’ve made a couple of major additions to the team.
Liam MacKinnon from Whycocomagh will join the Pirates blueline for the 2018-19 Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League season.
MacKinnon served as captain of the Cape Breton West Islanders 2017-18; he was a member of the Telus-Cup winning Islanders team in 2017.
Brendan Lanning, who’s from Moncton, came to the team through a trade; he played 37 games with the Valley Wildcats in the Maritime Hockey League in 2017-18.
The Pirates open their training camp at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre Tuesday.
