Energy Scholarship awarded to Quad County students

Sixteen students pursuing post-secondary studies in the energy sector including several in the Quad Counties have been awarded the Pengrowth-Nova Scotia Energy Scholarship.

Eight, 10-thousand-dollar renewable scholarships were awarded to university students, and eight, 25-hundred-dollar non-renewable scholarships were presented to Nova Scotia Community College students.

Dara MacEachen in Inverness Education Centre/Academy received one in the bachelor of science program at Saint Mary’s University.

Nova Scotia Community College recipients include Christopher Benoit who studied École Beau-Port in Richmond County (utility line work (construction and maintenance))…Caleb Hearn a graduate of Richmond Education Centre/Academy (power engineering technology)…Kyla Delorey, East Antigonish Education Centre/Academy (electrical construction and industrial) and one from Victoria County, Riley MacNeil from Rankin School of the Narrows (class power engineering)

Energy and Mines Minister Derek Mombourquette says the scholarship fund helps young Nova Scotians as they build careers.
