Single-vehicle crash in Mabou area sends one man to hospital

Police say paramedics took one person to hospital following an Inverness Co. crash.

They say the single-vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Rte. 19 and MacKillop Rd. in South West Mabou just after 10 p.m. Monday.

RCMP say two men were in the vehicle- the driver escaped through his window, while the passenger was cut from his seat by local volunteer firefighters and taken to Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.

They say it seems the driver lost control, crossed to the other side of the road and went into the ditch.

Police say they’re still investigating, but no charges are pending.
