X-Men go for series sweep against Acadia in Wolfville

The StFX men’s hockey team can advance to the next round of the AUS playoffs with a win against Acadia in Wolfville Friday night.

The X-Men won the opening game of the best-of-three quarterfinal series 5-0 in Antigonish Wednesday night.

Brad Peddle, StFX’s head coach, tells The Hawk there’s still room for improvement in game two.

“We have to play the same game, but we have to be better,” he says. “That was a great effort (in game one), but we have to recognize that Acadia is going to be better- they’re fighting for their lives, they’re always good at home, so we’re going to certainly have to take another step.”

Game time is 7 p.m.

The X-Men advance to face Saint Mary’s in the second round if they win; an Acadia win sends the series back to Antigonish for a third and deciding game Sunday night.
