Town officials in Mulgrave say they’re close to starting their planning for the upcoming fiscal year.
The town’s 2018-19 fiscal year ends March 31.
Ralph Hadley, the mayor of Mulgrave, tells The Hawk they haven’t started budget deliberations for 2019-20 yet.
“We’re just trying to get through the year-end here,” he says. “Our new CAO is starting to put a budget together.”
Hadley says their first budget discussions should be underway by their next regular meeting.
The Municipal Government Act requires officials in the province’s municipal units to create a balanced budget.
