Municipal councillors in Richmond Co. have appointed an interim chief administrative officer.
Don Marchand’s appointment was approved during a vote at a special council meeting Thursday night.
Marchand was already a municipal employee, serving as Richmond Co.’s revenue manager.
Councillors voted 3-2 in favour of terminating the contract of Kent MacIntyre, the municipality’s former CAO, following a two-hour in-camera session at a special council meeting April 1.
One of the reasons for MacIntyre’s firing seems to be a sundry account that has a budget of $27,000, but apparently has $62,000 in expenditures.
