A number of local runners took part in the 123rd edition of the Boston Marathon.
Three of the five local participants were from the Antigonish area- Tammy Beaton, James Jessome and Bonnie Fraser.
Danielle MacDonald of Port Hawkesbury and Tyler Germani of Baddeck also competed.
Germani had the top time among the five, finishing the 42.2 km race in 2:49:48.
Jessome had a time of 3:17:14, MacDonald finished in 3:45:56, Beaton crossed the finish line in 4:10:15 and Fraser’s time was 4:30:20.
More than 30,000 runners took part; roughly 80 were from our province.
