Antigonish Co. officials say they want their provincial counterparts to repair two unpaved roads in the municipality.
Councillors say the unpaved sections of the Afton Rd. and Gorman Rd. are in bad shape.
After May’s regular municipal council meeting Tuesday night, Owen McCarron, the warden of the municipality, said work is much needed.
“It’s (in) pretty, pretty tough shape- in the winter time, I guess, it’s quite bad,” he said. “Council has asked to send a letter to the minister (of transportation) and to our local MLA to have someone look at it and maybe to do a little bit of work on it to make it a more year-round road.”
McCarron said the Afton Rd. is just off the new Bayside Travel Centre in Paq’tnkek, so it would be a great connector if it was fixed.
