Inverness Co. is the latest member of the Cape Breton Regional Enterprise Network to vote in favour of adding two new members.
Inverness Municipal Council voted to add the Town of Port Hawkesbury and Wagmatcook First Nation to the group at Thursday’s Regular Council Meeting.
Afterwards, Warden Betty Ann MacQuarrie told The Hawk, they’re trying to build an island wide network.
“We’re getting closer to being an island wide REN,” she says.
MacQuarrie says she’d be happy to see the network expand to the eastern mainland as well.
However, MacQuarrie says one county, Richmond Co., has given notice to leave the group at the end of the year.
