Local hockey player competing overseas

A local hockey player will compete overseas.

11-year-old Cache Pierrard from We’koqma’q made the Alberta-based Canada Cowboys Peewee AAA team.

He’s the only east coast player, and he played with the Cape Breton West Atom A Islanders last season.

The team will travel to Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic for the 2019 European Hockey Tour; competing for the Czech Hockey Challenge Cup.

Their tour gets underway Monday.
