Clean-up and restoration efforts from Hurricane Dorian are into their fifth day.
The majority of schools in the Quad Counties re-opened after two days away Wednesday.
Students and teachers return to Dalbrae Academy Thursday; officials with the Strait Regional Centre for Education say students and staff members will be provided with bottled water for drinking and cooking, although there will be no cafeteria service available.
Felix Marchand Education Centre in Louisdale will also re-open after power was restored to the building.
Bayview Education Centre in Port Hood remains closed due to no water; support staff are not required to report to work.
More than 33,000 Nova Scotia Power customers remain in the dark; many of the more than 4,600 outages are scattered across the Quad Counties, with most estimated restoration times between 11 p.m. Thursday and 11 p.m. Friday.
Members of the military were in Port Hawkesbury to help with clean-up and restoration Wednesday.
