Council approves new emergency management plan

Port Hawkesbury Town Council has approved their new emergency management plan.

At last night’s regular council meeting councilors voted unanimously to accept the plan developed, in large part, by Port Hawkesbury Fire Chief Curtis Doucet; who was on hand to answer questions.

Councillors took time to thank the Chief for his extensive work in building the plan.

They also asked him to look into getting emergency management training for council, from the province.

The next step is to submit the plan to the provincial Emergency Management Office.
