Local residents are taking part in events as part of a massive nation-wide climate change protest.
Marches are happening in nearly 100 towns and cities across the country Friday.
StFX students are walking out of class at 11 a.m.; they’ll be joined by faculty, staff and community members for a march that started at Mulroney Hall.
Protesters have also gathered at the Port Hastings Visitor Information Centre and rotary for a rally that goes until 1:30 p.m.
