The Strait Pirates and Antigonish Bulldogs are on home ice in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
The Pirates (1-0-0), who won their 2019-20 season opener against the Miners in Membertou Saturday, host the Valley Maple Leafs (1-0-0), who also won their season opener, at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.
The Bulldogs (1-1-0), who split their first two games of the season, welcome the Brookfield Elks (0-0-0), playing their first game, to the Antigonish Arena.
Both games get underway at 7:30 p.m.
The Halifax Mooseheads have a pair of weekend home games against Maritimes Division opponents in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The Mooseheads (0-2-0), who dropped their first two games of the season on the road, face the Charlottetown Islanders (1-0-1).
Puck drop at Scotiabank Centre is 7 p.m.
Halifax hosts Pomquet’s Logan Chisholm and Acadie-Bathurst Saturday night.
The StFX women’s rugby team is on the road to determine the top team in the conference.
The X-Women travel to Wolfville to take on the Acadia Axewomen.
StFX (3-0), who are ranked third in the country and Acadia (3-0), ranked fifth, have yet to lose in 2019; they share top spot in the four-team AUS standings with six points.
Kick off is 7 p.m.
The StFX soccer teams are home for AUS action.
They host the Saint Mary’s Huskies at StFX Stadium.
The X-Men (3-1-1), undefeated in their last three, are third in the 10-team conference with 10 points, two points behind Saint Mary’s (4-2-0) for second, and a point ahead of fourth-place UPEI.
The X-Women (3-0-2), who have yet to lose in 2019, are fourth in their 10-team conference with 11 points, two points behind Memorial for third, and four points ahead of Moncton and UNB, the two teams tied for fifth; Saint Mary’s (1-5-0) is eighth with three points.
They’re the first- and only- regular season games between the teams.
The women get underway at 5 p.m.; the men start at 7:15 p.m.
