A StFX football player has received a conference award.
Cole Virtanen, a defensive back with the X-Men, has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.
Virtanen had a pair of interceptions in StFX’s season-ending 14-4 win against Saint Mary’s in Halifax Saturday, including a 42-yard return for a touchdown.
He also recorded six solo tackles and a forced fumble.
