Town officials take another step toward new wastewater facility

Mulgrave town councillors have decided what they want from the project manager of their new wastewater facility.

Now they just have to find one.

Councillors approved a tender request for a project manager to oversee the entire wastewater facility construction project during November’s regular town council meeting Monday night.

Ralph Hadley, the mayor of the town, tells The Hawk they spent a good amount of time on the request for proposals.

“We’re looking for somebody that will do the whole groundwork- everything, set up the construction, all the construction, oversee from start-to-finish,” he says. “It’s definitely full steam ahead (and) there is quite a bit going out for proposal for project manager- you have to make sure you’ve got all your I’s and T’s dotted and crossed, and (know) what you’re really looking for.”

Hadley says they ultimately only made one change from the request for tenders staff members prepared, and the tender will go out by Friday once that change is made.

He says the tender closes mid-December, and the contract will be awarded in early 2020.
