Local sports preview (Sunday)

The Battle of the Quad Counties resumes in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

The Antigonish Bulldogs host the Strait Pirates.

It’s the second game in the four-game season series between the teams- Antigonish won the first 4-3 in a shootout in Port Hawkesbury Nov. 2.

Puck drop at the Antigonish Arena is 7:30 p.m.

 

The two local teams in the Nova Scotia Female Midget AAA Hockey League are back on the ice.

The Panthers meet the Funday Nationals in Membertou in the fourth and final regular season game between the teams at 11 a.m.

The Northern Selects visit the EDZA West Reds in the fourth game of their four-game season series at 1 p.m.; the Selects won Saturday night’s game between the teams in Fredericton.

 

There’s one game in the Cape Breton West High School Hockey League.

The Inverness-Baddeck Academy Rebels host the Dalbrae Dragons.

The Dragons (2-0-1) have won two of their first three games of the 2019-20 season; the winless Rebels (0-2-0) are last in the five-team league.

It’s the first of four regular season games between the teams.

Puck drop at the Dr. Bernie MacLean Cultural and Recreation Centre in Inverness is 7 p.m.
