Two arrested, four RCMP vehicles damaged after chase

Four RCMP vehicles have been damaged, and two people arrested, following a chase in Pictou Co.

Police say they arrested a 22-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man from Alberta in Purlbrook Tuesday, after discovering stolen property.

RCMP say they handcuffed the pair and put them in the back of an unmarked car while they waited for a marked cruiser to transport them.

They say the suspects fled in the unmarked car.

Officers located the vehicle on Hwy 104, they say during the chase the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic.

Police say a pursuing car pushed the suspect’s car into the median.

No injuries have been reported.

The two suspects are expected in Antigonish Provincial Court Wednesday.
