UPDATE: Nova Scotia prisoner in custody after escape

An inmate is now in custody after he ran away from the Northeast Correctional Facility in Pictou County.

Kevin Edward Clarke-McNeil is originally from Ontario and is incarcerated on serious criminal charges including attempted murder, unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and resisting a peace officer.

He escaped from the prison around 8 p.m. on Friday and RCMP arrested him Saturday morning.

Correctional Services says they are conducting a full review of this incident.
