A GoFundMe for a local hockey player has surpassed $20,000.
Anthony MacDonald suffered a severe head injury when he hit with a puck during a SAERC Saints practice Tuesday.
The 15-year-old is in intensive care at the IWK in Halifax.
More than 400 people have donated to a GoFundMe; more than $22,000 has been raised so far.
Officials with the Strait Richmond Minor Hockey Association and the Cabot Highlanders say they’ll be collecting donations at all of their weekend home games.
The teen has received massive attention online, with hockey personalities Bob McKenzie, Pierre LeBrun, Darren Pang, Craig Simpson, Ray Ferraro, Cassie Campbell-Pascall, James Duthie and David Amber sharing his story with their social media followers.
