Local sports preview (Sunday)

The two local teams in the Maritime Major U18 Female Hockey League play their second of back-to-back weekend games.

The Cape Breton Lynx, who are third in the four-team league, host second-place Halifax in Membertou for the second time in as many days at 11 a.m.

Halifax won’s Saturday night’s game between the teams.

The Northern Selects travel to Dartmouth to play the Penguins in the second half of their weekend home-and-home series at 12 p.m.

It’s a match-up of first versus worst- the Selects are in top spot, while the Penguins are last.

The Selects won the first half of the home-and-home in Antigonish Saturday afternoon.

The Novas play their second home game of the weekend in the Nova Scotia U15 Major Hockey League.

The Novas, who won/lost against South Shore in Antigonish Saturday night, host the Cougars.

It’s the first game in the three-game season series between the teams.

Puck drop at the Keating Centre in Antigonish is 12:30 p.m.
